Our goal is to save our customers money whilst helping them help the environment.
Our aim is to ensure that each refurbishment is conducted in a way which is the least damaging possible for the environment and to provide our customers with a sustainable, energy efficient home. Onis provides clients with the option to choose a cost effective, environmentally friendly refurbishment upon starting a project. This option comprehensively takes into account: light, power, heating, shelter, air, waste and water systems. Onis will strive to only use suppliers of raw building materials (such as timber), which conform to reputable, environmentally and socially sound Certification systems, have been subject to third party verification, and have been awarded an eco-label. We ensure our subcontractors consistently abide with our Environmental Policy when working on site and when sourcing materials. Where reasonable, Onis will seek to minimize the negative contribution to climate change of each of our projects. We will continue to build on effective and practical solutions to lower and offset carbon emissions. By refurbishing homes, Onis seeks to build on local neighbourhoods' social and housing capital. We believe strong social and housing capital breeds greener, safer spaces. Our challenge is to have a number of refurbishments operating in one neighbourhood at any given time, thereby helping to lower the flocking of residents in specific areas. Onis adheres to the 3 Rs of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in the office and on site. For example: we coordinate our orders to minimise the number of times our lorries travel to site; when taking down walls we salvage as many bricks as possible and reuse them; all rubble is separated into general building material, soil and rubbish to be recycled or disposed of accordingly, and so on. Upon completion of a refurbishment, Onis will provide the customer with Top Tips on how to continue to use their home sustainably. And last but not least, we will monitor the use of our Environmental Policy over regular periods of time, to ensure we learn as we go along and systematically continue to improve our practice.
